Not perfect, but very nice case for iPhone
My objectives for a case for my "new" (actually, a used iPhone, but new to me) iPhone case were: good color, thin, no flap or cover, making the iPhone less slick and easy to drop, and NO SILICONE, because the silicone cases attract dirt and dust. This search let me to the Shades cases.

The case I ordered, in Rosy Red, is quite nice. It is very, very thin. It is shiny, but yet not slick, so it is easier to hold on to the iPhone securely. The translucent color makes it look like my iPhone is metallic red -- yay! The buttons and screen all work just fine even though they are covered by the case. It cleans easily if needed, and doesn't attract dust.

However, the case isn't perfect yet. Here are the things that made it less than perfect for me: the red color is a bit too pale and orangey. I would like a deeper, redder red. The edges of the case have a sharpish bevel thingy where the two halves of the case are connected -- not really terrible, but it would be nicer if not for that. The case sticks to the screen, giving the appearance of bubbles. And I have to pull up the front of the case to get it to fit in my dock (the original iPhone dock, not the newer ones).

The company says that the bubble effect goes away with use, and on their website, they suggest some strategies to help that process along. So I am trying that and expect the bubbles to go away. As far as the dock goes, the company also says that the case will fit in the Apple Universal Dock. For now, I don't mind pulling the front edge of the case up so that it fits on my older dock.

Basically, the Shades case comes close enough to filling my needs and wishes for a case that I am pretty happy with it. The issues I do have with it are pretty minor, and I think the case is well-worth what I paid for it.

Shades are great fit!
I bought two Shades for my original iPhone based on a review in an iPhone column. I had already tried a Speck case that worked OK, but was hard to get in & out of my pocket. The Shades case has held up well, cleans easily, & has protected my iPhone from numerous drops out of my pocket. It makes it easy to get out of pockets and is a good value.

Great Case!
I have had this case for over a year. It protects my phone nicely and looks great doing it. Much better
than the other bulky cases I have tried. It fits like a glove.

Cheap Case! Stay away and spend your money on something else.
If you want a cheap case for your iPhone to use at the gym, this may work. I say cheap because I believe they use pleather and lycra. The clip that attaches to your clothing broke in 2 days - sorry but I didn;t even press on the button that hard and it broke in half. Be forewarned, this case is overpriced for such poor quality.

Better off with DLo case. Stay away!

Best of the iphone covers I've had
I have tried 3 covers for my iphone 3g. One cover didn't fit together well at all. One managed to partially reduce the signal to my phone. This one fit easily on the phone, without damaging the phone. It protects it very well from an accidental fall or knock. Phone signal is excellent. I should add that I didn't try the screen protector which came with it, because my experience is that the way I apply hard/inflexible ones, they usually lift from a corner of whichever cover I've had.

Clear plastic cracked and scratched my phone!
Just the second time I inserted my phone into this case, the upper clear plastic half cracked (where the bottom tabs fit into it), and as I slid the phone out of the case, the crack scratched a 2-inch long line down the back of my phone! I am definitely returning for a refund. I would warn against using this case at all, given how easily it cracked, and more importantly, how easily it scratched my phone.

Not Bad... Overall
This case for the iPhone 3G/3GS does a good job protecting the sides and back of the phone. The sides do bevel up past the screen a bit, so there is a little bit of protection for the screen (meaning that if you lay your iPhone with this case flat on it's face, the sides of the case would be touching the flat surface and not the screen itself). The design leaves the screen pretty much unprotected though, which I consider a big flaw. The screen is the most fragile part of the iPhone, so I would've liked a layer of touch-through material. Here is a list of some pros and cons I noticed about this case:

Pros:
-Case itself seems pretty sturdy and well made.
-All the ports (including the headphone jack port) are well designed and accessible!
-Clear design is nice.

Cons:
-Case scratches the back of my iPhone when I slide it in and out of the case.
-No ample screen protection. I'd like more than just an LCD sticker protecting my phone.
-Dust does enter the case... but it should be noted that it's less dust than usual for this type of case.

Conclusion:
This case was actually designed pretty well. Most cases for the iPhone seem to be designed poorly, with bad port access (especially headphone jacks) and difficulty removing the case. This case does scratch the back of the phone... but again, most cases do. This is due to dust/debris getting into the case. I just wished it protected the front of the screen better. A touch-through hard plastic layer screen would've been nice. I've used some of these before (like the case-mate naked case) but those don't seem to be designed or thought out very well at all. Overall, this isn't a bad case... but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a better case out there either.

Decent Case for a Decent Price
If you are looking for a good case for a good price, you should definitely check out this case. The case is made out of polycarbonate, which is a good material for cases intended to have a small form factor. Utilizing polycarbonate allows the case to remain thin while still being able to provide ample protection for the iPhone 3G. The case also has an outer layer coated with a rubber-paint, which provides a decent grip. This rubber texture however, differs from those cases comprised entirely out of rubber which make it hard to fit in your pocket. This case fits nicely into a jeans pocket, without the case making it to bulky to be use able. If you are looking for a slim fit hard case of decent quality, this is the product for you.

Hard Cover for iPhone
This is a great cover because it provides protection to the iPhone without making it bulky. Also, one of the big problems with other cases is they tend to stick to the pocket -- making it difficult to get to the iPhone. Not so with this case. It slides in and out of shirt or pants pockets with ease.

awesome case!
My husband loves this case! It fit his phone perfectly and has the velvet inside to protect the inside back of the phone. It is a shade darker red than it looks in the picture. Perfect case to put in his pocket because it slides and does not get stuck like the silicone ones.

Some design quirks and limitations
It does the job of holding your iPhone well enough, but you'll have to use the onscreen volume control, which is hard to do on the move. Also, it would be better if the phone were oriented upside down for easier viewing while the device is on your arm. As it is you have to read the screen either upside down or at best at a 90º angle.

Solid construction, comfortable, versatile
I bought this arm band to use with my Apple Nike + iPod Sport Kit for iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, iPod touch 1G, 2G and iPhone 3GS, which connects directly to the sensor without using the included receiver. The plastic cover is sewn into the armband on the inside of the pouch, unlike some cheaper models that are glued on, so it will not come loose over time. And because the plastic cover is clear from top to bottom, you can turn the iPhone right side up or upside down and still see every bit of the touch screen - however - if you are using wired headphones, the pre-cut hole for the headphone jack is in the top of the armband. I use the wireless bluetooth Altec Lansing 906/R US BackBeat Headphone with Dongle, which also connect directly to the iPhone for wireless music and phone usage, so I can turn the iPhone either way in the armband - there are no wires coming out of it while I'm wearing it!

The entire armband is made of neoprene and the strap is soft and wide, so it doesn't feel like it is cutting into your arm. The strap also has soft velcro along the entire length of it, so the armband will accommodate both large and small arms well. The wire wrap does pop out if you have wireless headphones and don't want to use it, but it really doesn't bother me, so I just left it in. The plastic cover is protective, but thin enough that the touch screen can still sense your finger through it.

One of my biggest concerns was whether or not my iPhone would fit inside the armband with it's protective hard case on, or if I would have to take it off before inserting it into the pouch, which is done through an overlapped slot in the neoprene at the top on the inside of the armband. I have the Richard Solo hardcase that came with the RichardSolo 1800 for iPhone - External battery pack + power adapter Li-Ion 1800 mAh, and I also have the Zagg invisibleSHIELD for the Apple iPhone 3G (Front) on the screen of my iPhone. I did not have to take the case off - it fits snugly into the pouch with the case on! I do have to be careful when removing the iPhone from the armband, as the Zagg film can stick a little to the plastic cover on the SportWrap, but it's not a big deal to gently pry them apart. I'm not sure how other protective cases and films will fit, but the two items I have work nicely.

Overall, I'm very satisfied. I ran 5 miles last night with the SportWrap on. It didn't slip once, and I never had to readjust it, even after soaking it with sweat. I agree with other reviewers that the iPhone, in general, is large for wearing on your arm, but this armband is solid, comfortable, and I have no doubt that my phone is safe while wearing it.

good product
Overall, I'm satisfied with this product. There aren't many products which can be used for running with an iphone (curious since it has Nike+ built in), but this one works fine. The iphone itself is a bit big to be "armbanded" (not a criticism of the product just a fact).

Pros:

It's easy to get the iphone in and out of the case. It's also easy to navigate to your ipod and other apps thru the large, clear plastic screen. Headphones plug in easily. The phone is completely surrounded by cushy neoprene. The neoprene keeps the phone secure inside, as well as fairly still on the arm. Easy to put on/take off. Removable headphone cord wrap is nice.

Cons:

Arm size: I'm 5'7" 130 lbs and there isn't much room on the armband left, so I'd be cautious if your arms are much skinnier than mine.

Volume rocker is not accessible when phone is in place. Either need to use onscreen volume control or a headset with remote vol control (which is easier to use on the fly anyway)

Hard to see the screen when it's on your arm (true for arm bands in general)

Great case for the iPhone!
This case is awesome!!! I have tried a few cases but this one is exactly what I was looking for. It is a hard case that also protects on the front a little bit (not the screen) and has little rubber cushions on the front and back. Also you get two diffent backs with this case; one that is flat and one with a kickstand to watch movies without holding it. Great buy!!!!!!!!!

Pain in the butt
The concept of the product was great. but being a pet owner, it constantly got hair under the case. Taking it Part was none too easy either. It ended up scrathing the sides of my phone after the 3rd time I took it apart.

I use it for my iPhone. It just fits, and the case is very form fitting. I also have a thin polycarbonate case for it. CaseCrown iPhone 3G Soft Polycarbonate Slim Fit Case - Black

I couldn't find something like this that was made for the iPhone, most of them were for the iPhone without a case on the back.

I don't think it would work well as a camera case, unless you have a very thin one. The iPhone is much thinner than most compact cameras.

But, for the iPhone, I love it.

Nice, but some flaws
One of the reasons I purchased it, I thought the case is "cute" with the colors that fit my personality. I chose the white/cranberry specifically of the "scratches" that would form in the future. Although, the dirt may be more noticable, I thought it was the least of my concerns because dirt can be simply wiped off.
As for the controls for the volume and the on/off switch. You do have to press a little harder which can be a little painful to your fingers when you try to use the volume alot. It is a snug fit where the phone snaps on when you put the case on. If you try to remove the phone from the case, it can take some time because of this snug fit. I wouldn't recommend getting this if you need the phone without the case often. My sister purchased a Sony ihome and I tested to see if it would fit with the case on, and surprisingly it does. I dropped the phone accidently twice now and it seemed to protect it very well. I suppose if you dropped it at a higher heighth, then I would most likely agree that the case could fall apart. Fortunately, this hasn't happened yet. All in all, its done pretty well protecting my phone.

Aside the volume and on/off switch problem and the scratches (If that bothers you, I would get the white/cranberry), then you would love this case. I'm happy and with the secure tight fit, so when it comes down to it, everything else is minor.

PROS:
1. The case fits tightly to the iPhone. It is softly textured inside, and does not move within the case. This avoids the irony of so many cases, where the case itself causes surface scratches on the iPhone.

2. The rim of the case sits only slightly above the surface of the iphone. It does not wrap-around the front of the device, which would add thickness to the front and back.

3. The case feels sturdy. However, testing its strength by dropping an iPhone is be inadvisable.

4. The case looks nice.

5. The case offers relatively complete coverage (screen notwithstanding), including the volume rocker and power button. The "Silent" switch is left exposed.

CONS:

1. The case shows a lot of surface scratches. Dark colors should be avoided.

2. The word "Speck" is cutout on the back of the case. It collects lint if kept in a pocket.

3. While the case protects the iPhone in covering the volume rocker and power button, it makes the buttons unresponsive. Additional pressure is required.

4. The case is expensive, and should last longer than ten (10) weeks under normal conditions (placing-in and removing-from pocket). If never dropped or separated from the iPhone, there should be nothing to break. Unfortunately, it was here; the Speck CandyShell really disappointed. There is a small piece of rubberized plastic at the bottom of the case prone to breakage. It did break.

SUMMARY:

The Speck CandyShell has a lot going for it. All things considered, most of its faults were small. However, at a price of $25, the case should be able to stand up to everyday use. Here, the Speck CandyShell fails. This case is a 2 out of 5.

NICE CASE!
I have three different cases for my Iphone - this one, by far, is the best for protection and ease of use. i keep my iphone in my backpack/purse or coat pocket; the sleek design allows smooth removal without getting caught. The case is a snug fit but doesn't take alot of effort to remove it from phone. Chargers fit without needing to remove iphone from case. Highly recommended case.

Mediocre case, horrible screen protector.
There are really two products here. iSkin has succeeded in making a soft rubber case that will protect the majority of your iPhone 3G from scuffs, scratches, bumps, and minor falls. However, they've failed miserably at providing a screen protector that gives any sort of reasonable utility.

The case itself fits well enough, and is easy to install/remove. The material is nice and smooth, feels good in the hand, and adds a little bulk to the iPhone. (It goes into my jeans pocket with some difficulty). The volume and hold buttons are covered very well, and I haven't had any problems with them. Additionally, the hole for the headphones works well enough for my Shure earbuds.

My biggest problem with this case on the whole is that it just isn't very durable. I accidentally dropped it from about 16" to some rough pavement, and much to my sadness the rubber case had a chunk torn out of it, and there were some other deep scuffs from the impact. I'm a detail-oriented guy, so this damage sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm really disappointed.

Lastly, the screen protector. Once it's applied, the screen quality is poor. Even worse, it shows scratches. After a couple of weeks of normal use (I work in an office), the screen is covered in marks and scratches.

Bottom line? If you're looking for a soft rubber case, this might be the one...just be careful with it. And get a screen protector from someone else.

Nice Skin, bad screen protector
I have been using this skin now for about 2 weeks with my Iphone 3GS.
The skin seems like it provides very good protection. It covers all the buttons, yet they remain easy to feel and push.
The data port, headphone jack and mute button are easily accessible with the case on.

Installation of the case is a breeze. It comes with a screen protector which is worthless and will get scratched up in several days. Luckily it was very easy to remove.

Overall, I really like the iSkin, it feels nice, adds very little thickness or weight. Easily fits in my pocket.

The Good:
- Looks nice
- Easy to install/remove
- Protects well

The Bad:
- Screen protector sucks!

Would I buy again?
YES!

Good Basic Protection
This is a rubber snap-on case. It completely covers the phone making the complete look of the iPhone black. It is pretty snazzy. All in all, this is the second best case I have tried (and I have purchased over a dozen). The plastic is a bit too soft. For pocket use, it provides friction. It also picks up scratches too easily. Still, I would use this case over many, many others I have tried. The buttons work well in the case. The case feels well protected. Nevertheless, I recommend the speck CandyShell over this one.

Dockable With Some Effort and Excellent Case Overall
I got my first iPhone 3g a few weeks ago, and have already tried out several cases or holsters to find the one that works best for me. I prefer to have my phone in a protective case that attaches to my belt with a belt clip, so that narrowed the choices somewhat. I tried a very plain plastic holster that carried the phone face in, which was okay, but didn't offer much protection if the phone were to slip out of the holster or drop out of my hands. I was attracted to this Sena case because it seemed to provide all the features I wanted -- protection for both sides of the iPhone if it should drop, a firm belt clip system, and the ability to dock in the Apple dock. I got the case two days ago, and I have to say it has measured up to all my expectations. First, it is made of high-quality leather, but still has a simple, plain look, which I like. No flashy design elements or elaborate textures, just smooth, good-looking leather that surrounds the phone, but leaves all the controls and microphone, speaker, etc., accessible, and leaves the phone's touchscreen accessible once you flip up the lightweight leather flap.

The other big issue, of course, is the "dockability." One reviewer said the case is not dockable, but that's too harsh a verdict. Mine is sitting docked in the Apple dock on this computer as I type this review, and it stays docked with no problems. I think what's going on here is that I was a bit skeptical of the "dockable" claim, from what I have read about other cases. From what I understood, the only really dockable ones were those, like the inCase Slider, which have removable lower parts that come off so you can dock the bare iPhone to the dock. So I didn't expect too much of this case, or at least I expected it would take some effort to dock it. That's exactly what happened. There is some leather, naturally, at the bottom of the case where you need to dock the iPhone, and you have to force or squeeze those bits of leather into the dock. The first few times I tried this, it started to dock, but then came undocked. So I found that I have to exert some real force, and press the iPhone down very firmly, and force it into the dock, and hold it for a while. When I do that, it does dock, and stays docked. You may not consider the case to be completely "dockable" in those circumstances, but, maybe because I had somewhat low expectations, that's fine with me. The case looks and feels great, it functions great, and it docks ok, if I take the trouble to force it firmly but safely into the dock. I haven't found any other case that does this well. I like the belt clip system, which includes a "rivet" that you install on the case if you want to, but you don't have to if you don't want to use the clip. I can use all the functions of the iPhone while the case is on, and I feel secure in having the phone protected with leather on all sides. Of course, the selection of a case is very much a matter of personal preference, and this one is a little pricey, but for me, it was the perfect fit, and the price is completely worth it to me.

Best Simple Case Around.......
This is the BEST, and LEAST "clunky" iphone case I have ever used! It is VERY well made and understated.

Looks great, one issue.
The case is built well, with excellent quality leather. My one glaring issue is that it's NOT DOCKABLE. I bought this along with the Griffin Roadtrip, and it does NOT fit in the iPhone 3G cradle. I either have to remove the Sena case, or dock it directly to the Roadtrip withoug the 3G cradle.
This isn't an issue when docking directly to the Apple supplied cable, but be warned if you're trying to dock to a transmitter, FM/Stereo, etc.

A cool case
This is a very good case. I wanted a clear case that did not conceal the iPhone's beautiful styling too much and the Agent 18 case fits the bill.

Pros:
Easy access to dock and buttons.
Clear design means Apple logo clearly visible on the back and the chrome trim actually appears magnified.
Good physical protection of the phone.
Easy to attach and remove.

Cons:
Adds some bulk; so much that I have yet to find a holster it will fit in.
Does not come with a screen protector.

Very Nice Case For IPhone 3G!
The Agent18 clear case for the 3G iPhone is quite nice. It fits perfectly, does not add much bulk to the iPhone, and looks great.

Since the surface is smooth plastic, it slides easily in and out of the pocket. Please note that this case does not come with a belt clip or any way to secure the iPhone to your body. It would also be nice if ALL cases (especially that are priced slightly higher like this one) came with a screen protector, but that's a personal preference.

I am docking it one star because the two halves of the case are slightly looser near the switches at the top of the iPhone than other cases I've seen, such as the DLO cases. Still, it is well-made and the iPhone feels secure.

Overall, I highly recommend this case.

Excellent and Good Looking

Great Cover
This is without a doubt the best cover I've bought for my iPhone 3GS. And for 1/4 the price of those other covers you'll buy anywhere else. I'm 100% satisfied with this purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in buying it. Good value for the money

Great case all around.
This is a great case. My wife ordered it for two reasons:

Purple
Covered as much phone as possilbe.

I also like the feel of the case, it is very non-slip in the hand, but is easy enough to get out of a pocket or a purse.

Good Case but won't work with extra shield
I wrote under the black version of this case too...

GREAT case! I like the feel of it, and just as advertised. It has rubbery feel, but is a hard shell. I don't like the silicone cases as much as they seem grabby and collect lint. I have had this for three weeks and it has held up so far. Easy to snap together, very tight fit.

It will NOT work with an extra all over shield protection which is a bummer. I had one put on, and now the case won't fit. I am caught between not using my wonderful purple case or pulling off at least part of the other shield thing.

Also, it will not fit in some holsters, I have read some other cases can still fit but so far this one does not. So, you might check for size if you plan to use a holster case along with it.

Just providing feedback on options. I do LOVE the case and feel of it!

Waste of money
Mophie should be ashamed. This case does not protect the phone very well and you loose most of your signal while the battery case is on. Buyer beware!

Great Battery Life, finally
The highlights based on owning the black case. Battery life of your iPhone will just about double with this case / battery. It does not cover the screen, so purchase a Zagg screen protector. The case is two pieces, the bottom 3/4 is the battery, the top 1/4 is a cap. Thickness is about doubled, and the phone is extended a little bit. The worst part of this device is the charging / syncing connector - it is the new mini-USB connector (NOT the kind for most portable drives and digital cameras).

Overall good product if you don't mind a bit more weight and thickness.

Design could be a better design.
I suppose I should be grateful that juice pack air owners don't have the rubber side/glue issues that plague the regular juice pack. And I'm happy that most reviewers are not upset about battery-life expectations.

Called mophie within 10 minutes of using the product because I couldn't get my iPhone back out. The fit is so tight, and the plastic inside is so glossy, that it was friction stuck. This could have been solved with a matte finish/texture inside. The customer service rep said she hadn't even heard of that problem. I find that really hard to believe! Since this is my third 3G due to the plastic cracking issues Apple has acknowledged, I didn't want to place any kind of stress on the connector areas forcing the phone out of the case. Finally, after literally using the top's corner to pry gently on the bottom-front (where the speaker gaps are), I was able to slide the iPhone up a bit. I could then use my palm to slide it out the rest of the way. After a couple of times, it slid out this way, but fuggetaboutit if you're a bit sweaty!

The micro-USB connector was a bad choice over the more universal mini-USB. No common sense!

The case gets in the way of flipping the ringer switch back on. Turning off is no problem, but unless you have a fingernail or a Tony finger, you'll need to take the cap off first!

Will update my review with any other issues experience.

I'm sorry you've experienced these difficulties. At least there is an upside, it seems you really enjoy reviewing! It seems to be a new hobby of this technological age. There are a lot of opinions out there and now, no matter who you are your voice (through writing of course) will be heard!

Usually those who have had trouble removing their phone from the Air have had a gel skin or invisashield type product on their phone. What I do to remove the top from my Air is put my fingernails in the groove on the back where the top and bottom meet and pull.

As for the micro USB. The biggest complaint with the original Juice Pack from our customers was that it was too bulky. In order to give the Air a sleek form, it was necessary to go with the micro USB. Apple also insisted on the micro, saying it was soon going to replace the mini as the standard. When the mini came out, everyone was up in arms about it as well. Sometimes when you understand the whole picture, things that seem to have no common sense, suddenly do.

Case Doesn't Have a Headphone Hole!
This case is defective by design. It does not have an area in the top of the case where you can plug in your headphones. Awful case. I recommend the Case-Mate iPhone 3G / 3GS Signature Leather Case & Holster Combo instead if you're looking for a leather iPhone case.

Excelent Product, not so good screen protector
I love this case. Fits perfecly and does affect the sensors in the phone like turn off the screen when you on calls. All the ports and buttons are easily accessible and feel like there is no case is on the phone. Also i love about this case is that the feel always has that nice feel not too smooth and not too rough just right. and also, the case will not get touch in you pocket or pick up little things that are usually in pocket like little lints like other cases. I have two other cases that do that and make the case fluffy. The only downside to this product is the screen protector. I advise you to buy another set of the them. i messed up mine very easy. But it is a great product and high recommend it.

Decent Case for a Decent Price
If you are looking for a good case for a good price, you should definitely check out this case. The case is made out of polycarbonate, which is a good material for cases intended to have a small form factor. Utilizing polycarbonate allows the case to remain thin while still being able to provide ample protection for the iPhone 3G. The case also has an outer layer coated with a rubber-paint, which provides a decent grip. This rubber texture however, differs from those cases comprised entirely out of rubber which make it hard to fit in your pocket. This case fits nicely into a jeans pocket, without the case making it to bulky to be use able. If you are looking for a slim fit hard case of decent quality, this is the product for you.

Hard Cover for iPhone
This is a great cover because it provides protection to the iPhone without making it bulky. Also, one of the big problems with other cases is they tend to stick to the pocket -- making it difficult to get to the iPhone. Not so with this case. It slides in and out of shirt or pants pockets with ease.

My husband loves this case! It fit his phone perfectly and has the velvet inside to protect the inside back of the phone. It is a shade darker red than it looks in the picture. Perfect case to put in his pocket because it slides and does not get stuck like the silicone ones.
